Seminar Speaker
Barbara H. Cole
Barb is a Family Nurse Practitioner in practice since 1999. Prior to becoming an NP, she spent 20 years as a staff nurse in ICU, CCU, and the emergency room. She also spent 5 years on an ALS unit running as a Health Professional: a nurse with medic training. Her first 9 years as an NP were in Internal Medicine working with renal diseases, hypertension, and kidney failure, including following transplant patients. The last 10 years have been spent in Family Practice, and she is currently with Penn State Health Medical Group in State College at Park Avenue. Barb has a deep interest in alternative treatments and a healthy life, not just the use of western pharmaceutical medicine. She helps her patients understand health and wellness through natural means to stay healthy using good nutrition, exercise, and does lots of teaching to help them develop healthy lifelong habits.
