“Therapeutically, peppermint is an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, cooling (helps reduce itching), a febrifuge (reduces fever), decongestant, expectorant, and a liver protector” according to Kimberly Keniston-Pond in her book “Essential Oils for Health”. She also states that “emotionally and energetically, it is uplifting, awakening and clears energy.” Several studies published by the U.S. National Library of medicine show that peppermint is effective in repelling insects, including flies. Peppermint blends well with Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon, and Rosemary.
